    Description

    Up for Auction is this vintage bronze western cowboy from the New England Collectors Society "The Rattlesnake". Original by Frederic Remington Art Museum 1988. It is in Excellent condition. No chips, nicks, breaks, or any other issues. A small piece of the wire rope is detached. Stands approx. 7 1/2" tall x 6" wide. Base is approx. 4 3/4" x 3".
    With the original created by Frederic Remington in 1895, "The Rattlesnake" became his most famous piece of American art, largely because Remington presented it as a gift to President Theodore Roosevelt. It has since come to symbolize all that is triumphant and heroic of the American west. The Rattlesnake reflects Remington’s attention to detail, along with his ingenious rendering of intense movement combined with a delicate sense of balance. This bronze statue is a handmade reproduction masterpiece.
